Morrisons - Claire House Bag Pack

Members of the Theatre Group helped with bag packing at Morrisons, West Kirby on Saturday 19th November 2011 with collection buckets in aid of Claire House Children's Hospice, based on the Wirral.

The donations collected totalled £466.83, all handed directly to Claire House.

Morrisons - Scrooge / Charity day - 19th November

Members of the cast will be at Morrisons, West Kirby on Saturday 19th November from 10.00 til 2.00, offering back packing assistance and to help promote the forthcoming pantomime, Scrooge.
There will be collection buckets for Claire House and all money donated on the day will go directly to this good cause. Please try and support this day and charity collection.

Scrooge Matinee tickets selling fast

Tickets for all shows are now reserved seating which means when you order or buy tickets, you will be able to select the specific seats and choose where to sit from those still available.
The tickets for the two matinee performances are selling fast so don't leave it too long in deciding, if you wish to come to one of these two shows.

Scrooge - Full Cast rehearsal = 5th October

The first rehearsal for all of the Cast for Scrooge will be Wednesday 5th October at 7.30. If you can not attend this then you must notify Dawn or send an e-mail with the exact reason. Rehearsals finish at 9.50.

AGM = 29th September at 7.30pm

The Group's Annual General Meeting will be held in the rehearsal room at Hoylake Community Centre on Thursday 29th September 2011 at 7.30. All Members welcome.

Scrooge rehearsals start date

Rehearsals for Scrooge start on 14th September at 7.30 at the Centre, but only adult Pricipal members of the cast are required for this first meeting. All other Cast members will be notified in due course as to when they should attend rehearsals.

Re Scrooge Auditions - first update

A good turn out for the auditions on Sunday 17th July. These auditions went really well and the show is nearly cast. Several further auditions to see over the next day or two and then we should be able to let people know whose got which parts. A list will be published on this blog on Wednesday evening. Thanks for all your interest.

Scrooge auditions in July

The Group will be holding open auditions for their forthcoming pantomime, Scrooge, to be performed at the Gladstone Theatre in January 2012. Auditions are open to anyone anyone aged 14 years and over and will take place at Hoylake Community Centre, Hoyle Road on Sunday 17th July from midday. There will be an informal gathering (Workshop) on Wednesday evening 13th July from 7.30 to 9.30 (also at the Centre) for anyone interested to find out more about the show and the many principal parts on offer and to collect audition pieces. No Summer Show 2011

Unfortunately the Group has decided not to stage a big Summer Show this year. It has proved difficult to find a suitable production available for the summer and the Committee felt that it was an opportunity to take a well earned break and focus on next years pantomime. 'Scrooge' will be staged at the Gladstone Theatre in January 2012. Auditions will take place in July with Tickets on sale in the autumn.

Groups' next Panto - news

The Group will be holding auditions for their next panto, SCROOGE, to be performed at the Gladstone Theatre during Janury 2012. Watch this space for the latest details and audition dates.

Group Singing Night

The Group is currently meeting each Wednesday evening from 7.30 - 9.30 for singing practice and to work towards perhaps staging a revues type show sometime in the future. All members welcome - it's a fun social gathering - not too serious!

Funeral arrangements for Nora

The Funeral service for the Group's President, Nora Rutter, will be held at Landican Cemetry on Monday 7th March at 11.30. Gathering in West Kirby afterwards. Family flowers only. Donations to the Air Ambulance Service via Quinns Funeral Services, West Kirby.

Great sadness for the Group

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our President, Nora Rutter, aged 82. Although Nora had not been fit enough to visit the Group and rehearsals for the last couple of years, she was able to work from home and helped enormously (as always) with the costumes for our last pantomime, Aladdin. Nora has been involved with and very supportive of the Group for many, many years. She will be very sadly missed. Our thoughts go to her family and everyone close to her.... We'll really miss her 'sprinkle' cakes and all her 'nipping and tucking'! Thinking of you Nora.

ALADDIN DVD NIGHT = 25th Feb

The Aladdin big screen permiere will be held on Friday February 25th at 7.00 at the Centre.
Admission £1 per person - all Friends and Family welcome. Bring something to drink and nibble on - seating provided.
Orders will be taken for anyone wishing for a personal copy - around £6 each.

Morrisons - Charity bag pack

At the start of the year the Group helped pack bags at Morrisons in West Kirby with collection buckets alongside for Claire House Children's Hospice in Bebington. We are delighted to say that £517 pounds was donated by shoppers on the day and all this money has gone directly to Claire House. Many thanks on beahlf of Claire House and the Group to all those shoppers who appreciated or packing efforts and kindly donated on the day.

Aladdin - Show comes to an end

Sadly, our latest pantomime, Aladdin, has come to an end. Well done to everyone involved both on and off the stage. This proved to be a great success all round, and not a cross word spoken (well not any that any one heard)!

Thanks to everyone who came to see the show, because without you, there would be little point in spending all the time and effort which we do on these types of shows. We hope we manged to entertain you and give you something to talk about.

Aladdin Sat Matinee SOLD OUT

Apart from a handfull of tickets which may be returned on the door, the Saturday Matinee is SOLD OUT. We can not guarantee a seat if you have not pre booked one.
There are still tickets available for the Sunday Matinee at 2.30 - call 625 3542 to be assured of a seat.

5.1.11 Aladdin Rehearsal goes well

The last rehearsal at the Community Centre went really well. The costumes are looking great and it is full steam ahead to the Theatre on Sunday. Last few tickets remaining for the Saturday matinee, but still plenty left for the Sunday matinee but don't leave it too long!
